2.3 — Connect wp2ai to ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web (chatgpt.com) to set up the connection: the desktop and mobile apps can limit wp2ai to its read-only tools. A paid ChatGPT plan is needed for ChatGPT to use the tools that write to your site.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Plugins, then Browse directory.
  2. Click Add (top right), then choose to add a custom MCP server.
  3. Fill in the form: name wp2ai for WordPress, connection Server URL https://mcp.wp2ai.io/mcp, authentication OAuth.
  4. Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.
  5. You are redirected to the wp2ai sign-in page: log in with your wp2ai account, then click Authorize.
  6. In a new conversation, select wp2ai for WordPress with the + button under the message box, then ask, for example: "Using wp2ai, which of my WordPress sites are connected?"

Good to know: ChatGPT does not always pick a plugin on its own. Select wp2ai with the + button, or start your request with "Using wp2ai", so it uses your site instead of a web search.

Once wp2ai for WordPress is listed in the ChatGPT plugin directory, you will also be able to find it by searching for wp2ai in Search plugins.
